Following fitness tests Ulster Coach Mark McCall made three late changes to the side annoucned earlier in the week. Tommy Bowe moved from the wing to take the place of the injured Bryn Cunningham (shoulder) at full-back with Scott Young moving from the replacements bench to the number 14 jersey, while Paddy Wallace started ahead of Adam  Larkin at full-back.

Tommy Bowe and Roger Wilson touched down for Ulster in the first half and a Paddy Wallace conversion and drop goal kept Ulster, with a first half tally of 15 points in touch with Munster who had scored tries through winger John Kelly and flanker David Wallace with out-half Paul Burke adding two penalties and a conversion. Half-time score Munster 18 - 15 Munster.

Ulster lacked possession in the second half but their defence kept Munster out but for a Paul Burke penalty. Final score Munster 21 - 15 Ulster.
