Renault Schools Cup Semi: RBAI 13 - 8 Royal School Armagh
28 February 2005, 4:18 pm
By Lyndsey Irwin
Last year’s Renault Schools Cup winners Royal School Armagh were edged out of a tense encounter against RBAI in a town vs country semi-final at Ravenhill.
Armagh took a 3 – 0 lead on 17 minutes after consistent pressure on the Inst line led to a penalty in front of the posts.  Full-back Alan Whitcroft converted the kick with ease.

The scores were levelled by Inst's Lewis Creighton on 25 minutes and three minutes later Inst hooker Stephen Douglas crashed over the line to put the Belfast side ahead Inst 8 – 3.

Shortly after the restart Stephen Douglas completed his brace of tries when he bundled over the line to put his side 10 points clear.
Armagh dominated possession and territory for the rest of the game but could only convert this pressure into one try, scored by centre Michael Hooks.

Final Score: RBAI 13 – 8 Royal School Armagh
