| Leinster led the match throughout the whole game and scrum-half Brian O'Meara had a great night with the boot, kicking 22 of his side's 32 points.
After O'Meara and David Humphreys exchanged penalties at the start of the match, the first try of the night came when Leinster centre Filipe Contepomei touched down on 21 minutes. Penalties were again exchanged before Ulster winger Tyrone Howe scored Ulster's first try on 35 minutes which Humphreys converted. Another penalty for each side left the half-time score: Leinster 22 - 16 Ulster.
Humphreys missed two penalty opportunities early in the second half while O'Meara slotted over another three pointer before No. 8 Victor Costello looked to have sewn the game up when he charged over the try line on 67 minutes, O'Meara converted to put Leinster 16 points ahead. Leinster 32 - 16 Ulster.
However Ulster, aware of just how tight it is at the top of that Celtic League table, responded with two late tries, Paul Steinmetz getting his first score for his new club on 82 minutes and David Humphreys sniping over the line in the dying seconds of the game. Humphreys converted both scores to secure the bonus point and leave just two points difference at the end of the match.
